Hi, I’m Shawn Mento, the first born out of three. I was born on the 21 Windhoek, although I was raised in Upington, South Africa. I completed my primary in 2007 at M.H. Greeff Primary School, whereby at the end of the year I finished as 7children. I am currently doing my grade 12 at a private college (Motacs College). My favourite subjects are English, Physics and Maths although it’s a challenge. My hobbies include swimming, running, playing and watching football, reading and making jokes. I’m a very kind person because I like helping and listening to people. My favourite quote is if you want to be respected, start by respecting yourself₺.
The Physically Active Youth (PAY), is an after school program, which helps students in need of attention academically. PAY starts at 14:00-17:00, Monday to Friday, whereby we have sports activities from 16:00-17:00. Individually PAY has done a lot for me; I’ve been to places like Otjiwarongo, Swakop and Okahandja to mention a few, just because of PAY. We do a lot here at PAY other than studying and getting tutored, which includes doing research, camping, sport activities to projects and presentations at senior levels. In conclusion PAY is a lifetime experience, and I urge people to come volunteer and witness what their missing out.
